We get a lot of questions about the difference between a silicone sexdoll and a TPE sexdoll.
Which material is now the best choice? Both materials have advantages and disadvantages. Below we list the differences and similarities for you.
There are currently both TPE and silicone sex dolls for sale. TPE and silicone are often mentioned in the same breath, but they are very different materials.
TPE sex dolls
We sell sexdolls made of the material TPE, also known as thermoplastic elastomer. Our products are approved and free from plasticizers.
Advantages:
- Realism – A TPE realdoll looks extremely realistic. TPE is elastic at room temperature. Due to this elasticity, a TPE sex doll can be positioned better, and more body postures are also possible.
- Texture – A TPE sex doll feels softer and smoother than a silicone sex doll. The material is also more malleable, which benefits the realism of the buttocks and breasts. The breasts also move if you choose the hollow breasts option.
- Price – A TPE sex doll is a lot cheaper than a silicone sex doll.
- Warmer – TPE takes on your own body heat more easily, which is less the case with silicone.
- Environmentally friendly – TPE has the advantage of being recyclable, making it less elastic for the environment.
Cons:
- Porous – TPE is slightly more porous compared to silicone. This makes a TPE real doll less easy to clean. That is why we advise you not to share a TPE sex doll with anyone else. Clothing can also stain more easily and cause stains. Read more about using and cleaning your sex doll.
- Quality difference – There is a lot of quality difference in TPE sex dolls, depending on the supplier. Some manufacturers use poor quality TPE, which affects the durability of your doll and the flexibility of the material. We only sell sex dolls made of high quality TPE.
Silicone sex doll
Like TPE, silicone is a rubbery, soft material. It is made from silicon (pebble) and oxygen.
Advantages:
- Less maintenance required – A silicone sex doll is resistant to direct sunlight, moisture and both high and low temperatures. A TPE sex doll is more maintenance sensitive.
- Non-porous – A silicone sex doll is non-porous, making it easier to clean.
Cons:
- Cost – A silicone sex doll is a lot more expensive to purchase than a TPE sex doll. When a silicone sex doll is offered relatively cheaply, we advise you to be extra alert. It may then be an inflatable doll with a layer of silicone. Many webshops also offer TPE sex dolls under the name silicone sex doll, while TPE and silicone are two very different materials.
- Vulnerable – A silicone sex doll can easily be damaged, especially the vagina, mouth and anus can easily tear. This is because silicone is less elastic than TPE.
- Stiffer – A silicone sex doll feels stiffer than a TPE sex doll. The breasts and buttocks also do not move. Especially if you are used to a TPE sex doll, a silicone doll may feel less realistic.
